Week 3

7 Hours

Monday

Description:

Today my tasks included delivering media advisories, as well as finishing up the hometown press releases. The Hometown press releases took a little longer than expected to organize, but I got it done by 1:30. I also was trained on how to set up the sign in the front of Holloway Hall that informs people that walk into the building of different events going on at the university.

Reflection:

It took me a little longer than I would have liked to complete my hometown press releases. This was disappointing, but I still was trying to catch up with my fellow practicum interns on my work because of the holiday so I was not too upset. Megan also taught me how to set up the front sign and informed me of how this seems like a minuscule task but it is important for it to look good because it the first thing people see when they walk into the building. .

Wednesday

Description:

Today Megan trained me on bulk clips and national clips. What this task entails is to Google search a title of an article, then print and organize and count the articles. After I did this Megan then gave me the national placement clips which I had to put in chronological order and then hole punch them, put them in a binder and then log them on a word document.

Reflection:

didn’t realize that every time there was an article published about the university that the public relations office had to  make clips for them. It is a big task that takes a lot of time but I was happy I got to learn how to do them and now that I have done them once I know I will be more confident for the next time.
