Midterm Evaluation
What are some of my strengths that you have noticed?
Jackie has consistently arrived on time which is greatly appreciated. She has often stayed late in order to complete a task all the way through, although this isn’t necessary it exhibits her dedication to the tasks.
What are some of my weaknesses?
Jackie should continue to practice her writing and proofreading skills. Through combining the knowledge she’s received from her writing courses and her edits from the PR office her writing should continue to improve throughout the semester. It could never hurt to refresh some of the printed instructions for daily tasks and brush up on things learned in the first week, this will speed her up the second half of the semester.
What is one thing I do differently than my practicum peers?
Jackie is a more literal learner and follows things to a T and does no more no less than written instructions. This is helpful because while others assume they know the next step, Jackie makes sure she understands before moving forward. However, some things are “read between the lines” and because it isn’t printed some small things are forgotten at times.
Is this difference a negative one or a positive one?
Although she may feel this gave her initial hiccups, after crafting instructions differently and geared toward her learning style Jackie has continued to improve. No task is a race and Jackie is her own toughest critic which in turn slows her down.
